"art of the web" projects

html, css, javascript

html, css, javascript

In Spring 2022, I took a design class called "Art of the Web" which was almost entirely projects in HTML/CSS/JavaScript. Throughout the semester, we were given creative prompts for sites to make and encouraged to create artistic designs that took advantage of the medium of the website. Here are a few of the sites I created:

  1. Blueprint of Creation: a Moor Mother / Irreversible Entanglements Tribute
This site was part of a "fan page" assignment, and I decided to make an artistic rendition of the lyrics for an album by jazz group Irreversible Entanglements. The site guides the user to click on white squares to continue revealing lyrics. I did this for three songs on the album.

  2. How to Find New Music
This site was part of an "explainer" assignment, and I used it as an opportunity to share my personal history with discovering music while giving advice on discovering new music. It's a side-scrolling experience with small elements that site visitors can interact with.

  3. Mini Minecraft Dev Log
This site was part of a "data" assignment, and I created a timeline/dev log for the "Mini Minecraft" project listed on the "Graphics Projects" section of this site. This site has a simple aesthetic and heavily utilizes javascript and the p5.js library to implement an interactive turning clock that reveals new progress as time goes on.
